Dear friends and family,
Sean and I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your faithful support of our ministries here in Honduras this past year. God’s blessing through your giving has allowed us to pour our hearts into our work in Danlí. The past year has been one of great change. Our family has begun, our church has grown, and new projects and ministries have taken root.
On February 2, we welcomed our sweet baby girl onto the mission field. Lucia Janette Warner was born weighing 7lbs, 8oz. and measuring 19in. long. She is just over a month now and simply perfect. I have taken some time off to take care of her, but I am looking forward to getting back to work soon.
The Honduras Education Project opened a new chapter this year with the beginning of Llamado Eterno Christian School. Inviting children from the poorest areas of Danlí to the church for a quality education in a loving, supportive environment, we have begun to fulfill a dream dating back to the beginning of the church itself. Forty children are currently enrolled in kindergarten and first grade, and we look forward to growing and adding more children and more grade levels each year. The program has also expanded the Afterschool tutoring program that offers free classes in Spanish, math, English, and computers for the 150 children sponsored to attend public school. Praise God for all these lives being changed with these opportunities!
The small business project is also doing well and growing. Now with two years of experience and training in making jewelry and hand-sewn accessories, the women from the impoverished Urrutia community are taking on more responsibility within the business and also managing their own local businesses. It is wonderful to see the women become more independent as they are empowered to provide for their families. We are currently finalizing the paperwork to make this a non-profit organization called Artisans of Hope that the small businesses will fall under; thus, opening doors for us to expand sales in the United States.
Our church here has also been doing very well. We were recently blessed with a second bus, which came just in time, as the church has been growing and more families coming from impoverished areas on the outskirts of the city. The busses allow us to welcome all who wish to come to church services, Sunday school, youth group and the Afterschool Program. We have seen tremendous growth, not only in numbers, but also in people willing to serve and lead.
Our lives and ministries here in Danlí are more blessed than ever. We are so thankful to God that He allows us to be here and serve Him and the people of Honduras. We sincerely thank you for your support and your prayers.
