Artisans of Hope
The Artisans of Hope small business ministry has also had a great year. The women, who make the jewelry and sewn items, are taking on more and more responsibilities and learning the ‘ins and outs’ of designing, ordering, quality control, and even sales! We can see the difference this project has made in their lives, as they each feel empowered to provide for their families and lift themselves out of poverty.
Empowering Education International
Llamado Eterno Christian School began February 1, 2017- offering quality, Christian education to 37 kindergarteners and first-graders living in extreme poverty. This year, the children surpassed every expectation we had for them. They are speaking English, memorizing Scripture, and already learning to read and write! Next year, we will have 82 students fully sponsored from pre-k to second grade. Praise God!! We also have another 126 students fully sponsored to attend public schools. We continue to work with them at our weekly tutoring classes, Sunday school, youth group, and in their individual communities. All our kiddos keep us very busy, but we love each of them like family and really enjoy seeing them learn and grow.
Llamado Eterno Church
Our beautiful church in Danlí is living up to its motto “Love in Action” every day. It is wonderful to be part of such a caring and servant-hearted group of believers. This year, we were amazed at how many people, especially youth, have stepped into volunteer positions to teach at Sunday school, cook and serve meals to the children, and go out into the most impoverished communities to serve and share the love of Christ.
The Warner Family
Lucia Janette Warner joined us on the mission field in Honduras February 2, 2017. She is now almost a year old, growing fast, and learning every day. She is babbling up a storm and an expert ‘furniture walker.’ She is such a happy baby and truly is a light to all who know her.
More than ever, we are trusting completely on the Lord and His provision. This journey is not always easy, and this year we have been stretched and pulled and at times all twisted up J; however, we are so grateful to be where we are and to have seen how God can use people like us to make a difference.
We humbly thank you for your prayers and financial support. You are a huge part of our lives and ministry, and we could not be more grateful!
