This year so far has been one for the books... and we are only in April!!! It seems like everything about our life and ministry looks completely different than it did just a few short months ago. God has brought us into a season of change with new challenges and new blessings.
Of course, the biggest change for us has been the birth of our sweet baby girl, Lucia. She was born on February 2nd and just turned two month old yesterday. I have been staying at home with her the past couple months and am just starting to get back to work at the church. Despite the slow learning curve of her parents, she is a happy, healthy baby. We are overjoyed with her and so grateful to God for this precious creation.
Our church has a new baby as well! The Llamado Eterno Christian School opened its doors February 1st to the pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade students of the Honduras Education Project. This long-awaited dream of Pastor Arturo and Ruth and the Honduras Education Project team has finally come to fruition after years of prayer, fundraising, and paperwork. The students, all from impoverished communities, are now finishing their first quarter of the school year and have done very well. The teachers and staff are just amazed ay how quickly this group of students, who came in without any formal education, have begun reading, writing, and even speaking English!
The entire Honduras Education Project has been doing very well. This year, we expect to have over 200 students sponsored through the program to go to school!! Praise God that He continues to touch the hearts of faithful givers in the States to sponsor children and uses their faithfulness to change lives here in Honduras.
Praise God that He continues to bring blessings to Llamado Eterno church and its ministries. We are overwhelmed by the growth we have seen in our time here and over the past few months. The church is growing, people are coming to Christ, children are being educated, and lives are changing every day! We are so thankful to God and to all our supporters that make this possible!
