It seems that from the first of June to the last day of July, our time just flies by! We probably look more like two chickens with their heads cut off than a missionary couple with a sweet little baby! Between our school, non-profit, coffee business, small business ministry, youth group, Sunday school, oh and of course that sweet little baby... we usually stay busy. Add two mission trips with a total of almost 50 gringos, and things get really fun!!
June with Lighthouse
We started off the summer with our third visit from Lighthouse Community Church from Des Moines, Iowa. 17 truly wonderful, God-loving people came to Danlí with one purpose: to serve. What a beautiful thing! This team surpassed everyone's expectations (including their own) with what God was able to accomplish through them in just one week. They shared about Christ in local elementary schools, organized a medical brigade for the children of our school, delivered 100 bags of food to the poor, and made 44 beds for children who would otherwise wouldn't have one. THANK YOU Lighthouse for an amazing trip!
July with Hillside
We were further blessed with a visit from our sister church in Keller, Texas: Hillside Community Church. Hillside has faithfully served Llamado Eterno Church and the city of Danlí since 2004. This year, like every year, was a huge blessing to us and our community. The team of 31 people evangelized to thousands of students at the local high schools and elementary schools, finished the construction of two bathrooms in the church, and organized a soccer tournament, marriage conference, and outreach in the impoverished "Urrutia" community! What an AMAZING week!
August with Family
After a very busy but fruitful ministry season, we were in need of a breather! We are currently back in my hometown, Bartlett, Illinois, visiting family and taking some time to rest and reconnect with each other and loved ones. We were able to take a week long camping trip to the breathtaking Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, a place my family has vacationed for 60 years! We are leaving Monday morning for Danlí and are excited to finish out the year with our beloved church, Llamado Eterno.
As we go back to Danlí, we are preparing to wrap up the school year (I know that sounds odd since here in the States everyone is just starting). We will be entering into our last quarter of the school year and ministry year. It is a great time for us to really focus on building up the ministries of the church we are a part of, primarily the youth group and Sunday School. Please pray as Sean and I work with the youth leadership of both ministries as we train and equip them to serve.

Back in the States!
Our time back in the States was CRAZY! Crazy awesome and crazy busy! We had the privilege of visiting three beautiful congregations: Covenant Church of Schaumburg, Illinois, Lighthouse Community Church of Des Moines, Iowa, and Hillside Community Church of Fort Worth, Texas.
At each church, we were given the opportunity to share what God has been doing in Honduras through Empowering Education International and Llamado Eterno Church and sell products for Artisans of Hope. It was a HUGE blessing for us to be a part of. PRAISE GOD we were able to add 38 children to the scholarship program and almost sold out of the Artisans of Hope products.
Changing Lives with EEI
With the 38 children added during our time in the States, EEI will be sending 246 CHILDREN TO SCHOOL at the beginning of the next school year in February!! 102 of these kids from pre-kinder to third grade will be with us here at Llamado Eterno Christian School and the other 144 will receive a full scholarship to attend their local school.
The school here at the church is doing very well. People come everyday wanting to put their children in the school and many can't believe it when we tell them that all of the children here live in poverty and attend the school for free. They are speaking more English everyday, learning and memorizing Bible verses, and excelling in their Math and Spanish classes.
It has been so encouraging to here testimonies from the teachers and principals of the public schools where our sponsored children attend. They all have stories to share of children who have turned their lives around after receiving the opportunity to be sponsored through Empowering Education.
Llamado Eterno Church
Every time we come back to Honduras, we are reminded of how much we love our church! The children and youth ministries have been so exciting to be a part of lately. Recently, over 50 children went out into the neighborhoods around the church praying and sharing the Gospel. The youth leaders have been on fire and have taken the youth group to a whole new level. Each Sunday is crazier and more powerful than the previous one. We have had 50 new visitors at our Sunday youth service over the past 3 months. This weekend we celebrate the church's 14th anniversary. What a blessing the church has been to Danlí over the past 14 years!!
The Lovely Lucia
Lucia is almost 16 months old and her personality is brighter than ever! She just got her first molar (no fun!!). She is slowly taking her first steps, but this girl does not want to learn to walk! We are just enamored with her as is all of Danlí.
As always THANK YOU for your prayers, support, and for reading our update. We are humbled and so very grateful for those of you who truly hold Honduras and our family in your hearts. Please be praying for our family, our ministry, and the children of Llamado Eterno.
about our financial support...
Though God has always provided, our monthly personal support for our lives and ministry is currently at 65% of our monthly budget. If you would like to help with this need, you can set up monthly donations to the SEAN AND WHITNEY WARNER SUPPORT fund by clicking on the link below.
Sean, Lucia, and I just got back to Honduras from six weeks back in Chicagoland. I'd like to share with you what the heck we spend our time doing while we are back Stateside as it is a huge part of our ministry efforts!
Goals for time back home
COMMUNICATION WITH SPONSORS: Communicating with over 200 Empowering Education and personal sponsors is a huge job, but we LOVE it! Honestly, it is one of my favorite parts of being home. First, we help all the sponsored children write letters to each of their sponsors and include an updated photo of them. Once translated, we send them out by mail. We also were able to send out our own personal updates and thank you cards. All of this is so important to us as we want everyone who gives to know all the good that they are supporting.
ARTISANS OF HOPE: Being Stateside gives us the unique opportunity to market the beautiful handmade jewelry, clothing, and accessories made by the women in Artisans of Hope. We hosted a big open house right when we got back and proudly displayed hundreds of products. Praise God the turnout was great and the sales that night and throughout the month of at churches in Texas, Iowa, and Illinois were much more than we ever imagined.
EEI SPONSORSHIPS: When home, we are able to really work on getting more children the sponsorships they need to go to school. We were able to create presentations and send photos of children to Texas and Iowa to be sponsored. We also met with people interested in Chicagoland and presented at the Swedish Covenant Church of Schaumburg! We are excited to report that about 20 new families have decided to sponsor a child!
PRAYER AND RENEWAL: This time also allows us to be in prayer and reflect as a couple on our lives and ministry. While on the field, we are inundated with needs, activities, work, people, and just busyness. It is a much needed time to rest and recuperate from a year of ministry and to renew for the next!
Back in Honduras.... and Going to Uganda!
Now that we are back in Honduras, we have hit the ground running!
At Llamado Eterno Christian School, our school that is 100% supported by Empowering Education sponsorships, We are getting ready for our first day of school on February 1. We will be welcoming 45 new students with an enrollment of 82 total. The teachers and staff are excited about the challenges the new year will bring and have been working round the clock to get ready for it all.
We are also getting 130 uniforms purchased, organized, packed, and passed out for all of our sponsored children in 17 different public schools. All these children will receive stipends for their registration and school supplies- making it possible for them to attend school!!!
Yes... I said Uganda!
Sean is right now on his way to Uganda, Africa! He was only back in Honduras for two days to get the baby and me settled, repack his bags, and begin a 72 hour journey to Uganda. There, he is collaborating with Lighthouse Community Church of Des Moines, Iowa in educational ministry and missions at a local orphanage and school. We are excited and praising God that Empowering Education International ministry is reaching a whole different part of the world!
And of course, little Lucia...
My little light is almost a year old! She continues to be a very happy, easy baby. It was so much fun having her home with all our family and friends. We celebrated her first Christmas (Santa brought her Puffs and new pacifiers) and loved every minute of it. Her grandparents especially loved being a part of her life for a short while, and it was such a blessing for her to get to know them more. She is not yet walking on her own, but could compete in Olympic furniture walking, and she is babbling like crazy! My dad commented that she "learned to eat like an American," because she certainly is eating more and more everyday! She is healthy, happy, and, to this mama, just perfect.
THANK YOU so much for your prayers and support! You are so important to our ministry and to us, personally. Thank you for reading all the way to the end of the update, too! It was a long one, but we are so excited to tell you everything that is going on here. God has done so much and continues to work and move in and through us.
Sean and Whitney Warner have been missionaries in Danlí, Honduras since Oct. 2013. We love sharing all that God is doing in Danlí through our ministry updates posted to this page. Thank you for reading! Feel free to leave a comment or write us at email@example.com.
